This new cookbook from Gooseberry Patch is called Foolproof Family Recipes, easy-to-make recipes for new cooks, newlyweds, and families on the go. And I have the perfect recipe -- Newlywed Roast. Trust me, even if you can't boil water, this roast will rival your mother-in-law's! With only three main ingredients, this is quick and easy, too -- my kind of recipe.

Recipe Published
From time to time, Gooseberry Patch requests recipes from its followers and I am usually only happy to oblige. They always have a theme -- Christmas, cookie swap, quick-to-fix -- that they are featuring and outline what they are looking for regarding number of ingredients, time involved and so on. In exchange for a recipe of mine that they publish, they send me a free cook book. Wow! What a deal! A free Gooseberry Patch cookbook for one of my recipes. I will take that deal any day of the week.

It's always fun to dig through my (ahem) clutter of recipes. I intend one day to organize my recipes into a recipe scrapbook and have even started collected ideas and embellishments to do so, but I just haven't found the time as yet. Pinterest is full of ideas and when I stop to take a peek at what I've already collected, I get sidetracked by new ideas to pin and lose track of time. Before I know it, it's time to start dinner and I haven't accomplished anything but a slew of new pins. Wouldn't it be great to have a neatly stacked bookcase with recipes readily at hand of your favorites? I thought about making a recipe scrapbook of just those recipes I like to use at Christmas. What a timesaver! Maybe one day . . .

Where are you???
* Excuses Reasons for Not Blogging
- I’m working on a secret project and there are spies everywhere.
- I have become obsessed with Project Life and December Daily.
- I fell and broke my tailbone and sitting for too long is excruciating.
- I want to write fiction.
- The husband has had the flu.
- I am addicted to the game Fairway Golf.
- I am reading really good books right now – five of them.
- I am coming down to the last days of my free use of the Cricut Explore library and am making images like mad.
- I’m in the mood to create things for Christmas and it’s still too early to post holiday ideas without getting shot.
- I won a beauty pageant and paparazzi are stalking me.
* Some of these excuses reasons may be imagined.

Christmas Red work
Lately I have had an itch to stitch. I think it's leftover from Madame Samm's Superpower Challenge. I am also in the mood for Christmas, so I bought the Crab-apple Hill Winter Wonderland red work pattern and have started stitching at night while I watch television. (Mainly I stitch while watching my husband's chosen selections, since he hogs the remote control.)
I think this is such a fun design and the red work goes quickly. At first I was going to use different colors of red floss, but changed my mind when my local stores did not offer much of a selection and chose to use only DMC #666, a cheery Christmas red. I'm not sure I'll have it finished in time for Christmas, or if I even want to make the complete quilt. I was thinking, just this first section would make a wonderful table runner for the holidays. What do you think?
