Mermaids in a row

My granddaughter is due to be born very soon and I was rushing like mad to finish her quilt for her shower.  I think it turned out rather well, considering it was a spur of the moment creation.  I had another quilt pattern all picked out and ready to go when I saw a mermaid quilt pattern from Red Brolly. I tweaked the pattern a little.  Just my preference. 

This was a fast, fun and easy quilt to make -- just my style!  What could be better to welcome a sweet baby girl into the world!

I also crocheted her a baby soft afghan to wiggle around on.

 In lieu of cards, the parents asked for books with a personal message inside they could read to the baby.  I thought these books were appropriate for my husband and I.
