Hello from sunny HOT California! Today begins the Stitching Sunshine Blog Hop, the brainchild of Carla of Creatin' in the Sticks. Thank you, Carla, for hosting this fun hop. Just the name of it makes me smile.
It is expected to reach 102 degrees today here with plenty of sun! How appropriate that Carla has us stitching sunshine! For my sunshine project, I decided to make a welcoming pineapple table runner. We love to vacation in sunny Hawaii where they are famous for their hospitality, symbolized by the pineapple. We are still on partial lockdown here, so my invitation to visit has to be virtual.
Yellow is not a color I have much of in my stash. A table runner was the perfect size to use the odd bits and pieces of my yellow fabric. To add a little pizzazz, I threw in a few splashes of color. For extra interest, I added prairie points to the corners.
I'm not much of a quilter. I usually just stitch in the ditch. But I thought this little piece might be the perfect one to try my hand at some machine quilting. For now though, I think I will call this project good, and head to the pool. Be sure to visit the other sunshine girls and see what they're stitching this summer!
