Quilt Qwazy Queens Making Us Laugh

Hooray!  It’s my day to share my Making Us Laugh project. The theme for this blog hop is the brain child of Joan of Moosestash Quilting.  Thank you, Joan, for hosting this hilarious hop. I have laughed and giggled so much my sides ache. There are some really “Qwazy” quilters out there!

When Joan invited me to join the hop I jumped at the chance.  Making people laugh is right up my alley!  But what to do?  I had a few ideas, but when I tried putting them together they just did not grab me.

Time was getting short and I still had nothing on the drawing board but a couple of sad attempts. Throwing my hands in the air, I said to myself, “If you can’t find something soon, you will just have to make something pedestrian and not funny.”

“Never!” I told myself.  (Yes, it’s true.  I answer myself.)  “I won’t give up until pink pigs fly!”

Oh.

Problem solved.

So here to amuse you is my project. Six fat, pink pigs flying in the sky.  Six black crows are looking bewildered at who is sharing the sky with them.

What could those crows be thinking?   Maybe they’re grateful cows don’t fly.

But wait!  The biggest laugh is on me!  Only two of those pigs are made right.  The other four will have to be fixed.  Guess I just have to laugh at myself!  Can you find my big mistake?

I hope this has made you smile today.  If you have the time, please leave me a comment below.  I love hearing from you all. Be sure to visit the quilters in the list below who have made creations designed to make you laugh.

  2. Other than cute little curly tails being different, as they should be, all 6 pigs look like they're from the same litter to me. This is tooooooo cute for words....made me laugh and almost cry at the same time. Will a pattern be available soon? Thanks for a good laugh, more of a heartfelt smile, in this crazy time!

  3. Very cute and delightfully funny. Leave the "wrong" pigs, think of the great story it will make and the fun "I spy" game for little ones!

  4. Hi Charlene! Aww, when pigs fly! I love it and the expression on the crow's face is just perfect. You captured it so well! I do wonder what they are thinking . . . the idea of cows not flying is a good one. Your pigs look perfect and I wouldn't fix that little mistake. No one but you will ever notice! I think you met the challenge well - who cannot smile at flying pigs?!! ~smile~ Roseanne

  8. OMG...this is just hilarious! I have looked and looked, and I sure don't see anything different in your pigs. The looks on the crows faces are just priceless! You are amazing and the fact that you talk to yourself and answer your own questions makes you tops in my book!

  9. Your flying pigs are perfect just as they are and the look on the crows faces is so funny! Please don't change a thing on the quilt!! Personally, I'm glad pigs don't fly...dealing with what the birds leave on cars and driveways is quite enough!!

  10. Too funny! I love how the crows have all different head positions. As for finding the boo-boo, not seeing it

  11. Oh my goodness Charlene, this definitely made me laugh, then smile, then a memory happened ... When we lived in Cumberland, MD, there was a restaurant my hubby and I frequented that was actually called When Pigs Fly... mmm that food was good... Thanks for the great memory and sharing your fun quilt. I love it.

  21. Great quilt, love the pigs but the looks on the faces of the crows is priceless. I found your definition of a flaw but it took me quite a search to find it. I guess I didn't see it as a problem.
Thanks for sharing your quilt with us.
